  1. Hi Ivana Are you sure you downloaded the DEMO version of Vray from Chaosgroup?
  2. In terms of VR equipment - we have the Rift, Vive and Galaxy gear in our office. At this point in time I still think a simple stereo pano render in the Galaxy gear is the best option. Relatively easy to produce, and no cables or special hardware. It's easily passed around a meeting room with clients. Some people don't like the fact that you look a little silly with it on and it messes up your hair - but this can be remedied a bit by removing the head straps and just holding it up to your face. We've also done some real-time stuff with the Rift and Unreal content, with the idea you can move around via an Xbox controller. This is still too complicated IMO. The simplicity of providing a fixed vantage point in the Gear has been a better option for us.
  3. I would suggest turning the Probabilistic Lights option off completely and see if that helps. It can introduce a lot of noise in interior scenes in more recent Vray versions. I think Chaos are addressing these issues in Vray 3.5
  4. You've done a fantastic job filling up those shots with people. Not easy. Ironically though they look so generic - they could be any stadiums anywhere. I would try to convince whoever to do shots with no people at all so the focus is on the architecture/seating - and candidly discuss the culturally sensitive reasons you've listed. But I guess you have already tried all that.
  5. Thanks Josef I was having a play with it again last night, and it does have potential. As you say - it's pretty amazing for free software. The paid content is not to expensive either
  6. Cool - thanks for your insights Francisco. You are right - they are a bit too sexy for our needs. Sadly there is not much call for Busty Vampire Vixens in my renders . Mind you the female "Real World" Genesis 3 model and the male equivalent does not look too bad as a base mesh - relatively normal. I couldn't really find much in the way of "normal" clothes to put on them, but I haven't looked very hard yet. I may try starting with a posed base mesh and use Marvellous Designer to put some clothes on.
  7. Just going to bump this thread. I'm having a look at it also. I was considering using it to generate people for mid-distance/background models. I do a lot of retail jobs where seated restaurant people are required. This might be an alternative to 3D scanned characters which are quite expensive. Has anyone on here tried to make some usable content with Daz? Poser looks like a better solution to make custom people, but obviously at a cost. Daz3D seems to be just a drag and drop approach. There are plenty of sci-fi/fantasy resources available for Daz3D, but I'm not sure if there is much that could be applied to Arch Viz?
  8. Have you tried manually starting the VrayRT render server? Is your AV/Firewall software blocking anything? You could even try the Remove RT Render Service before trying to re-render
  9. Hey Josh Unless you are doing some kind of really detailed interior, there's no need to use a LC subdiv value of 3000. Try turning it down to the default of 1000 and increasing the Dynamic Mem Limit to 8000. (Assuming you have 16GB RAM or higher)
  10. Hey Kris Thanks for sharing. Where have you found the best resources for learning maxscript?
  11. It's out now finally. They seem to have fixed the viewport lag with grouped objects
  12. Try turning off "store direct light" in the light cache.
  13. Nikolay The whole Revit to Max process is always a pain - as you have noticed. Some things to be aware of: Check that the model has not been constructed miles from the Max origin. This can result in display issues that you mentioned. Also do a zoom extents to check if there is any spce junk floating miles from the main model. Related to this is the units setup in Max. In my office we generally stick with cm system scale and m as the display scale. This seems to be OK for most projects. As for the possible double faces, you could perhaps use the viewport XView to see if they exist and to select.
  14. Yep - I also get the green tint issue in the light cache. I have my fingers crossed that Autodesk will address the 4K Max UI soon with a service pack
  15. Hey Scott I tried everything I could, but Slice worked perfectly on my 2016 setup (GTX980). Video drivers perhaps?
