  1. Ricy, I noticed that Chaos, in collaboration with Architizer, published an industry survey in 2023 and followed it up with an updated version for 2024 and 2025. While it's great to see these reports continuing, I did notice that they left out some important areas. For example, we don’t see details on how much time studios and freelancers spend on different parts of a project like modeling, rendering, and revisions. There’s also a lack of insight into job security, pricing structures, and demographics. These aspects were covered in much more detail in the CGarchitect survey from 2015, and that kind of depth really helped us understand the industry's day-to-day operations. Wouldn’t it be valuable to bring back a more comprehensive industry survey? Having that level of data is incredibly useful for studios like ours to plan, adapt, and stay aligned with where the industry is heading.
  2. Hi everyone, I’ve been looking for the recent survey but haven’t been able to find the link. I searched around but couldn’t locate it. I have been eagerly waiting for it. If anyone has the link, I’d really appreciate it! Thanks in advance
  3. The client is driving me crazy. Long story, will share later and I will update the final image here. It looks like sometime they do not have a goal in mind and attempt to experiment different things. I will post the latest image here. Thanks for your valuable feedback.
  4. Theo, The power of product visualization often rely on great contexts. I know you are probably focusing on your product which is the subject in the image. But try to beautify the context more like you already tried with a table setup at the right. Scratches are good only if you can add subtly and realistically. overdone scratches do not look great.
  5. Which one would you vote for? Our client specializes in high-end luxury staircases and has recently reached out to us with a specific need. They require a detailed 3D rendering of one of their wooden staircase designs, which they intend to use as part of an important presentation. We are working on developing a stunning 3D visualization that will showcase the elegance and craftsmanship of their product. So far, we have created two different styles for consideration. We're eager to hear your opinion—between the cool-toned rendition and the version with warm undertones, which one do you believe would make a more impactful presentation? Thanks! 6. Hi Rick, Thanks for your reply. Previously I remember CGA would offer furniture 3d models from third party sellers. I don't see that option anymore. Is this because those items do not have a demand in the community? Or is it because those sellers do not want to sell on CGA anymore? By the way, your blog did not load from my end. This is what it says- Thanks again! Abdullah
  7. We have our ways of doing it at our office inside 3ds max. But I wonder if there is a way of doing it in 3ds max as easily as in Photoshop. It could have been done with array if it was the same objects. I am just curious if there is a shortcut in 3ds max to do it. Thanks in advance. 8. Hi, folks, Did you notice any significant change with CGA since Chaos group has acquired it? If anyone can point me out what has changed and what those changes mean for us I would be grateful. Thanks! Abdullah
  9. Other than the ones found on Udemy can anyone direct me to some good sources of tutorial for unreal engine 5? Thanks in Advance! Abdullah
  10. Hey everyone, I know today finding the best is not easy. the best depends on a lots of variables. But my scenario is that we have been doing jewelry rendering using Vray. I always felt that the renderings are not up to the mark. (Check the link above) Is there any product rendering artists in this forum who can contribute to this discussion? I heard about other options like keyshot, Corona or gemsvision matrix. I will have to render 360º videos too. Does it worth moving from Vray to these other apps just for jewelry rendering. We want to hit the next level with our new project. Thanks! Abdullah
  11. Yeah. It looks like professionals have become too professional. Anyway, we decided not to update. Thanks everyone for the help.
  12. Faster viewport, better shading and lighter app. Looks like there are good reason to update. But w use 2023. Updated recently. I am looking to see if there is any game changer upgrade that will worth us upgrade from 2023 to 2024. Only a few people are participating in the poll I created at the top of the page. It would also be great to know the 3ds max versions people are using .
  13. Franci, I suppose you work on architectural visualization like most of the other members here on CGA. What aspects do you think you will be using most and main reason for the upgrade to 2024? As I said we do a lot of 3d furniture modeling. Our workflow is modeling in 3ds max, texturing in Substance, Our clients use them in corona or vray or unreal sometimes. Rely a lot on scripts from scriptspot. I have to install a trial and go through 2024 unless I find someone who already did it and can throw some short over view.
  14. Josef, is there a big difference between 2023 and 2024? Do you work in architectural rendering niche?
