  1. Almost correct. There is a noise-map in the bump-slot of the glass material. It has only a very small value so that it only slightly "deforms" the glass-surface.
  2. The original cameras were slower, but we had to recalculate the final movie to 30fps because the camera-movement made made stuttering at 25fps visible. So we tried to compensate for that without rerendering the whole animation. But in general you are right...the movement should be slower
  3. That was, what i meant with tilt-shift-look. We tried to make it look like a miniature to experiment with a new look and some new techniques. It also helped to compensate for some shortcommings
  4. Studio/Institution: LeFx Client: personal reference project Genre: Commercial Exterior Software: 3ds Max, VRay, AfterEffects Website: http://www.lefx.de Description: Hi, after finally uploading the animation, we decided, that we are ready to present another project of ours. This time it´s an outdoor-visualization of an office building. We took a concept from a friendly architect and built on top of that. Right from the start it became clear to us, that we didn't want to go for a completely realistic approach. So we tried to create some stylized environment to help the building to better stand out of its surroundings. Later in the project we found it to be a bit too empty and lifeless, so we filled some stylized people into the scenery to make things more alive. We decided to go for some kind of tilt-shift approach in the final look to take advantage of the fact, that this was a personal reference project with room for stylistic experiments. The project was made with 3ds Max 2011, VRay 2.0 and AfterEffects for post-production. Here are some more close-ups: We hope you like it. Feel free to leave your opinion or critics.
  5. Thanks for the reply. Yeah...i came to like the close-ups pretty much...was even thinking about posting one of those as the main-image, but then decided against it, because the scene is pretty much created for the main-shot and that is visible in some of the close-ups. Parts of the scene are pretty empty and rough because they are not visible in the main-shot
  6. Studio/Institution: LeFx Client: personal reference project Genre: Residential Exterior Software: 3ds Max, VRay, AfterEffects Website: http://www.lefx.de Description: Visualization of a Mediterranean Pool scenery The picture is part of a series of shots. Originally, it was made to illustrate the high quality of our 3d-data-optimization-process. We wanted to give an example of what the clients could do with our data. We slightly overdid that, and built more and more scenery around the actual piece of furniture as we went along to create a pleasing and believable scene. The whole thing was created with 3ds Max 2011, rendered with VRay and went through a heavy post-production in After Effects. Below are the additional shots of the project. I hope you like it, feel free to comment and criticize.
