  1. Hi, I would like to ask what build is the best for 3ds max and corona and a little bit of lumion/animation work. I mainly use corona for rendering and seldom use lumion. Given a budget up to $2000 what are the hardwares I need? I am not familiar with the latest tech as of today in the 3d viz world and would like your suggestions. I am planning to buy the components hopefully next year. I also plan to have the dual monitors within the given budget as I can just buy cheap keyboard and mouse. Any recommendations will be highly appreciated. Thank you, Vincent
  2. So.. Has this ever happened to anyone? What should I do to stop the computer shutting down/ overheating while rendering? Edit- while rendering the CPU reaches 70+ degrees Celsius ...then shutdowns after a while ...also usually the "normal" temperature when I'm not rendering is usually about 46 degrees Celsius ... Which could be a bit high .? Also I cleaned my fan and heat sink a little before and it did the same render without shutting down but now back to the same problem. Please see the attached picture which shows my computer specs briefly
  3. I'm going to be doing a traveling architecture studio this summer so I unfortunately have to trade in to get a laptop to do the job. I would like to have a mac to normal word processing + email, and run bootcamp to do Rhino, Maxwell, 3dsMax, Autocad. . . I worried about the GeForce GT graphics card. I have a quatro FX 580 in my workstation and runs really nice for me. I would like a lighter machine but I'd but more marks on 3d modeling performance. Right now I'm in between this two: Macbook Pro 15" i7 2.6 8 GB ram GeForce GT 330 500GB HD @ 7200rpm high res screen $2500 (before tax) or Lenovo ThinkPad W510 i7-820QM NVIDIA Quadro FX 880M 8 GB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz SODIMM Memory 500GB HD @ 7200rpm $2300 (before tax) What do you think? Thanks.
