  1. Hi, I am trying to render caustics on a flat plane. I get wrong regular strait horizontal lines. Here are some setting : -- direct light with caustics subdivs at 400000 -- "Indirect illumination" set to OFF -- "Caustics Multiplier" set to 100000 (!) -- "Max photons" and "Max density" set to 0 I get different distance between those lines depending on the rendering resolution. Since lines are regular, I thought it was a memory problem. Setting "Dynamic memory limit" to 0 and changing "render region division" does not solve the problem. The problem seems new because it was not occurring last year. I'm using V-Ray 2.30.01 and 3ds max 2013, all on 64 bits under Windows 7. Here is what I get : Thanks !!!
  2. Hello, I have a problem with VRay renders in 3ds Max 10. I get black lines on the edges of my object. See links with my renders: [ATTACH=CONFIG]42203[/ATTACH][ATTACH=CONFIG]42204[/ATTACH][ATTACH=CONFIG]42205[/ATTACH] This problem doesn't appear when rendering with Mental Ray. I have to create realistic materials for stone objects for a course project in my university and I cannot get rid of these lines.   3. Hi, I am trying to get a good-looking layered terrain created with the Compound objects > Terrain option, the contour lines are imported from AutoCAD. I am getting jagged results and although i use Norm Spline (setted to 1 or 2) or Interpolate x2 (or x4) options i get this bad result. I had followed the steps from the two books from 3dats and in this case the closed polylines didn¡'t help. I have some ideas to better this result, converting the polylines to splines in AutoCAD is one (maybe either with "fit" too). In Brian's second book he had arc-polylines and this is cool stuff but i cant get this directly without another app (as far as i know), another one consist on moving the polylines cause if they are so close one from another jagg occurs yes or yes. I would appreciate some ideas of differents workflows.... Regards,
