  1. I'll try playing around with the interpolarion settings, thank you! Instead of modelling esch plank, wouldn't it be the same if a made a displacement image with just the gaps between each plank and assign it to the diffuse channel? You're right about the blurriness, the thing with the tree is mereley an architectural detail, there's a tree right next to a wall, but instead of having it removed, we are integrating it into the house reception area, hence the hole in the wall hehe. Any other advice? I'm eager to try it out.
  2. Hey guys, I've been using 3ds max and vray for a while now and my renders are okay, but it's time to take things to the next level. I want to get that photorealistic look. The thing is, my renders seem to have dark spots on several surfaces (on the white and gray walsl) and I can't seem to get why. How can I make them disappear? Also if you have any suggestions on how to make it appear more realistic I'd appreciate it!
  3. I tried everything, and it didn´t work. After lots of problems with V-Ray adv 3.20.02 and 3ds max 2016 I decided to just go back to the way I´m used to and Installed 3ds Max 2015 and everything runs smooth. I guess I´ll have to stick to what I´m used to but thanks anyway!
  4. Hey guys, I´m having a lot of trouble dealing with the new 3ds max 2016 VRay 3.20.02 combo and I´m really desperate for assistance. I worked with the previous versions of both, from 3ds Max 09 to 3ds Max 2014 and older versions of VRay and never had a problem (at least not big ones). The thing is, I upgraded my software and hardware to finally be up to date. I´m running 3ds Max 2016 with VRay adv 3.20.02 on 12gb of dedicated graphics, 64gb of ram, i7 5960x processor. The problem is that I CAN´T RENDER AT ALL with vray. Mental ray and iRay do render but somehow vray won´t. When I render something, It´ll show mostly an overexposed series of circles, kind of in a ripple effect way. I´m using a vray sun and a Physical Camera, also with vray materials and have been trying for days to get it to work but I can´t. I would be so grateful if you could help me out. I´ll attach the render. Thanks in advance guys
  5. So I've been working on this scene and I feel pretty good about the result since I am kind of new to this (almost a year) and taught myself but I want to take it up a notch, I am not talking about hyper realism and animations, but I want to be able to create something more realistic than this. Any tips on what should Iimprove? what should I look for? What should my settings be? I'm running 3ds max 2010 and vray sp5. Thanks!
  6. The problem was solved by checking on clamp output but with all the suggestions I managed to learn a lot more. That problem happened before in another scene and until now I managed to solve it by checking off affect specular. Deeply appreciated
  7. I already had the sub-pixel mapping checked, but it did go away by checking the clamp output in image sampler! Thanks to both of you!
  8. Hey guys, this is my first post on the site. I've been using 3ds max for a couple of years now (I use 3ds max 2010 and vray adv 1.50.sp5), but now I've encountered a problem and I can't seem to solve it. my settings are pretty much what I've always used, but strangeley there are appearing some mysterious white light dots and I've tried everything I could think of without any luck. If you have any ideas on what it could be I'd appreciate it!I'm using vray lights, vray sun, vray camera and vray materials. Also any suggestions are welcome
