  1. Hi guys!!! My old monitor Dell u2312 gave up on me. I am in search of new monitor. The work is related to 3D-Modelling and Rendering. Mainly used softwares are: 1) Zbrush 2) Autodesk Maya 3) Adobe Photoshop. My main criteria are longevity and color quality. I am thinking of going with Dell u2415, the next version of my old monitor. 1) How will it be? 2) Any better options? Thanks in advance.

  3. Hi, I am wanting to build a PC for use with the following applications- Autodesk Alias, Autodesk 3ds max Solidworks Keyshot Maxwell Octane Maya Adobe after effect Adobe Photoshop Adobe Premier Pro Google Sketchup I have pretty much decided on the parts that i want to use and would much appreciate advice, suggestions and opinions on the final build to make sure i have everything right and it will be a good machine for the applications i am looking to use. This is the build- CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1230 V3 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor (£188.40 @ Aria PC) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (£23.90 @ Ebuyer) Motherboard: ASRock H87M Pro4 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£60.00 @ Amazon UK) Memory: Kingston XMP Blu Red Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£96.59 @ Amazon UK) Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Disk (£118.79 @ Amazon UK) Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link TL-WN851ND 802.11b/g/n PCI Wi-Fi Adapter (£13.14 @ Aria PC) Video Card: Sapphire Technology AMD FirePro W5000 2GB GDDR5 DVI DP PCI-E Professional 3D Graphics Card (£339.91 @ Dabs) Case: Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 MicroATX Mini Tower Case (£64.98 @ Novatech) Power Supply: Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply (£57.67 @ Dabs) Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer (£13.18 @ Scan.co.uk) Operating System: Windows 8 Professional Student (£49.99 @ Microsoft) Total: £1026.55 The one thing i am still a little inconclusive about is my monitor. I would love to get the Dell U2713HM but it is over my budget which is £200-£300. I am just not sure if it worth spending that extra money to get a 1440p monitor. My other, more realistic option, is to get the Dell U2414h or P2414h. But i am still unsure so would appreciate any help deciding on a monitor. Cheers
  4. So i need a new monitor. I'm a student, and i have $270 / 200€. I thought I'll buy http://www.dell.com/bg/business/p/dell-s2440l/pd ...this, or http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/monitors/1287364/benq-ew2430/specifications ...this one. Their price are almost the same. What do you think about these? Do you know a better monitor for $270 or below? I need it mostly for 3ds max and photoshop with good color representation (i dont need it for games). Thank you.
  5. I'm currently updating our office from Max 2010 BB2008, to Max 2013 BB2013. When I open the monitor, 2010 jobs submitted to workstations that are still on bb2008 show up in it, but non of the details are available. If the have both 2010 and 2013 installed, BB2013 fails to launch the job claiming missing plug-in / bad adapter. Similarly, net monitor won't show any job details for 2010 jobs, nor does it show the job names nor server names for any jobs be they from 2010 or 2013. BB Net monitor worked fine with BB2008 manage. Has anyone successfully gotten BB Net Monitor to work with 2013, and has anyone successfully ran Max 2010 and 2013 on the same machine? We have some old jobs that aren't wrapped up I was hoping not to migrate to 2013 for consistency reasons, but I don't want to have to designate half of my render farm as 2010 servers, and half as 2013 servers either.
  6. Hello all, hope you can help me. I'm trying to get my head around gamma correction here and my questions are: 1. I've set my gamma & lut settings to enable, affect color selectors and mat editor and input output to 2.2. Do I also set my graphic card settings to 2.2 as well? It's blowing out all my colors here. 2. When bringing in a bitmap file into max, does it need to be de-gammad first then have it take on the settings of max?
