  1. Hello, Does anyone know how to turn on and off the snap for graphs in material editor? I presume I've hit a key by accident as now I when I try to tweak a graph it will only move in increments of 5%
  2. idk what it is with my copy of max, or maybe it's my pc, but im having a some issues with buttons. one's dealing with the IK panel in the Hierarchy tab, but the one im referring to now and is holding me back is the "Choose Morph Object" button in the "Morpher Basic Parameters" rollout in the Morpher material. i'll click it and it'll highlight but when i select any object with an Editable Mesh and Morpher modifier in the stack, it just selects the object, not bringing up the morpher bind window. i referenced the steps from the 3ds max help page, http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2015/ENU/3DSMax/files/GUID-9E4C8FF9-F981-4882-BAFB-D241C4FC57EF-htm.html. this is really holding me back, when im already falling back on time. help=GREATLY APPRECIATED!

To see what I mean more clearly see the attached jpegs. 1st: Unwrap dialog This shows maps that are associated with the unwrap modifier. 2nd: Those maps then appear in the scene materials in the material/map browser. I can manually go and click remove on each of the maps in the unwrap dialog or click reset texture list which doesn't work 100% of the time. And then they no longer are in the scene material window. So I was wondering why it does this as I would not need those sub-maps in the scene materials window, thus cluttering it up. See maps like checker pattern, UnwrapChecker, edge 1 etc Maybe a script is available to clean up maps associated with the unwrap modifier much quicker than going into every unwrap modifier and resetting or removing the maps? Thanks in advance.
  4. Hi everyone, I'm using 3ds max design 2010 and I've encountered this problem recently. Sometimes when I try to magnify my material slots, the "magnify" option is disabled. I had to drag/copy the material slot to another empty slot, only then I could magnify. (attached images) Has anyone encountered and solved this problem before?

I have a bitmap that Im trying to map to the diffuse slot of a material that I'm working on. for some reason when I click on the diffuse slot and go to choose the bitmap, when I click on the bitmap to use and clisk "Open" nothing happens. 3ds max with not allow me to slect any pictures for any of the slots (reflection, diffuse, etc). Not sure what to do. Can someone please help ???
  6. Hello all, I am trying to have all the objects in my scene which are assigned Material(A) to Material(B). I know there is an easy way to do this in the materials editor but I can't find it. I am using 3ds Max Design 2012. I will explain the problem further: I made the model using SketchUp which has everything in groups and components. I assigned materials in SketchUp to the objects in my scene and everything imported nicely into Max. In my materials editor, I edit one material at a time by bringing it into the editor via the eye-drop tool. I don't like to use the "get all scene materials" from the materials editor because it ties all the materials together that are in the same group as multi_Group materials and so on... Anyway, I eye-dropped the translucent glass material and I can edit it fine but I would like to change it to a default Autodesk Glazing material. I need a way to either tell the program to take all materials assigned to the translucent glass material to move to the new autodesk glazing material. Is there a button for this? The other option I can think of is to select all the objects assigned to the first material and reassign them to the new material. I cannot do the ladder because All my objects are in groups and I can't select individual panes of glass... Hope someone can help.
  7. hi everyone, i'm newbie here and i need a big help from you...when i download some good vray material to my scene (from vray.de) and i apply all maps/textures it all works fine, but when i want to SAVE my single material for future use on another file i lose all texture paths and their original name...so every time i have to load my material from material browser and riassign texture paths....please can anybody help me with this?? thanks a lot
  8. hi, This is my first post on this website woo hoo I have several .mat files and there associated with there relevant maps downloaded for the free website vray-materials As you know they are brilliant and very time saving, but to make them more efficient is there any known script utility that combines/merges .mat files together in just ONE click? which leaves importing them much quicker too.Its very time consuming doing it the material/map browser root, importing one at a time. Also what is your recommendations as how to organise the .mat files along with the maps associated, e.g. what way to organise the folders so that its easy to change computers and set up again.   9. Hey everyone, I got problem with material editor when using vray as my default render engine...Everytime I start max and open material editor i see Black mental ray's slots... but default render is vray...how can I fix this ? its a bit annoying I attached file how my max looks when i start it
