  1. Hi, I would like to ask what build is the best for 3ds max and corona and a little bit of lumion/animation work. I mainly use corona for rendering and seldom use lumion. Given a budget up to $2000 what are the hardwares I need? I am not familiar with the latest tech as of today in the 3d viz world and would like your suggestions. I am planning to buy the components hopefully next year. I also plan to have the dual monitors within the given budget as I can just buy cheap keyboard and mouse. Any recommendations will be highly appreciated. Thank you, Vincent
  2. Hi All, This is a request for one more build for RHINO + VRAY workstation and I would love to hear the feedback. Its envisioned as a mid range tower CPU - AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ 2950X or AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ 1950X OR would you suggest INTEL? Anything higher than this would sky rocket the price. GPU GTX 1080 TI or Quadro P2000. Or anything particular ? Rest I think would add up accordingly. Since I feel in this forum, most of the people are use to working with VRAY and RHINO, I would be really helpful to hear the feedback. And if there's any portable workstation that you think would fit, give me a heads up.
  3. Hey Guys! I woud like to buy a new workstation and looking for possibly the best solution that I could have. 4. Hi guys, So finally its time for me to upgrade and get a decent workstation. Here is the configuration i am looking at. Main functions would be 3dsmax - modelling(not too much as our clients send most of the 3d), texturing, lighting, VRAY, PS I am going to invest some time to learn cinema4d, corona, zbrush and a few other programs. This will be my personal workstation and not for the commercial work. 6. I would like to build my system - a 3D workstation plus a render node. Here is the configuration and I would appreciate any input. Thank you in advance. Background: I mainly use Maya for modeling and rendering (also animation). I will also use zBrush for organic modeling. I also do a lot of photo processing with Photoshop and Lightroom. I want to build a workstation and a render node because I need speed of single-CPU (for modeling, photo edting etc.) and also time saver by using a render node. 7. I'm looking into a new single processor build. I noticed a big PRICE difference between the i7 5960X and i7 5820K. ($1500AUD vs $500AUD) It will be used as a workstation and then put to use in the render farm but possibly has potential for a good multiple GPU's renderer as the industry makes a shift. I see the Max # of PCI Express Lanes on intelArk for the CPU's is 40 vs 28 respectively. Does this mean I'm limiting the number of GPU's I can use in SLI configuration and would this mean the max GPU's I could use then are 3 ?? ( assuming GTX 980 are being used) Any thoughts? Has anyone run into any other limitations with an overclocked 5820K in a workstation? and should I be looking at a different build? Build cost is $3500AUD ($2570 USD), 64GB RAM, ASUS X99-Deluxe/U3.1, SSD, 1000WPSU, NZXT Kraken H61. Thanks
  8. Hello there! I'm looking to upgrade my freelancing computer from an ancient i5-760 (quad, no HT, 2.8Ghz), and I'm having trouble deciding between these two chips: 6700K, 32GB, 4 cores at 4.0Ghz, for $611 USD. 5820K, 32GB, 6 cores at 3.3Ghz, for $733 USD. I'm looking to do the following: - Modeling with 3DSMax/Zbrush - Texture work with Photoshop/Quixel - Rendering interiors and products with VRay - Use VRay RT for lighting testing and look dev. - Work with realtime engines (and some VR) in Unity and Unreal. - Some video editing and 3D compositing. - A bit of animation rendering. - Bit of gaming, but I know either is just as good for this. I've read here and in other places that both chips are very comparable, in spite of the different core count, but does this hold true when we consider these other purposes? The Corona benchmarks still place the 5820K above the 6700K, and chances are the French VRay benchmark out there that suggests otherwise isn't taking into account that Light Cache is singlethreaded, and that tip the result in the 6700K's favor. As it is right now I've basically been avoiding CPU rendering as my GTX970 can do it much faster, but I've also run into its limitations quickly when it comes to interiors. Baking textures for realtime objects with my current cpu also poses some problems, some simple models can take 22 minutes for one of several passes in xNormal, making iterations an absolute pain. In the case of large VRay renderings, I don't have access to a render farm, so I'm thinking of using a cloud rendering solution when the need arrives, regardless of the chip. However, I'd like to be able to rely on my system, even if it involves waiting for a while. I can't afford a dual Xeon machine either. For a variety of reasons, I can't risk my equipment by overclocking. RMA's are next to impossible to carry out, temperatures in summer easily reach 40°C, and I don't have access to air conditioning. Therefore, I need to keep it safe, and can't consider OCing the 5820K to 4Ghz. I understand most of what I'll actually be doing is single-threaded work, but a lot of what I do is also multi-threaded. However, is it enough to favor going for the slower 6-core? I might sound like I'm deciding for the 5820K, but I'm really not sure. Which of these two do you think would be the better option for me? Thanks in advance for any replies.
  9. Hi, i am an architect and work mainly with 3ds max,v-ray and photoshop.i want to built a workstation for a price range of around $1800(excluding monitor, keyboard or mouse price). right now i am considering the following configuration: 1.processor: intel core i7-4790k 1600mhz processor 2.graphics card: Asus GTX970 4GBDDR5II OC Strix Edition 3.SanDisk Extreme PRO 240GB SSD 4.RAM- Corsair vengeance 16GB (2x8GB)DDR3 5.motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97M-D3H Intel Z97 Chipset 6.case:cooler master mastercase5 MCX-0005-KKN000 CPU Cabinet 7.power unit: Crosair CP-9020098-UK VS Series VS650 650Watt Power Supply Unit. I don't know much about workstation configuration but the above mentioned configuration was provided by friend who is currently using the same. But is it better to go for i7-5820k or anyother 6 core processor.if so what are the other part configuration which would support that processor It would be of great help if you could suggest a best configuration for the above mentioned softwares and around the price range of $1800. Thank you
  10. Having trouble deciding which route to take...was hoping to get some opinions/advice to help sway me one way or the other. My work consists of Autocad 2015, PS CC, Sketchup 2015, Vray 2.0...and also dabble in other Adobe apps...lately AfterEffects, and trying out 3Dsmax. This is my current machine (started out as a Lenovo k450): Intel Core i5-4430 3.0GHz Quad-Core Processor Asus B85M-G Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard PNY XLR8 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory Kingston 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (came with MOBO) 2x Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive PNY GeForce GTX 770 4GB Video Card XFX XTR 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply I plan on using some of the parts from the above machine for my new workstation...either a 4790k or 5820k setup. Then adding the original parts back into K450 to use for a little home office pc. I was set on building a 4790k 'modeler' with a slight overclock to use as my main workstation and also using it for rendering for a while until I saved up money to build a 5820k 'renderer'. I'm ready to buy parts now, but I'm hesitant...I'm thinking it might be a good idea to just build a 5820k (OC'd to 4.4) for my main workstation, which I'll also be able to render on much faster in the meantime, then start building cheaper render nodes in the future as funds become available. New Build Options: Intel® - Core™ i7-4790K 4.0GHz Noctua NH-D15 ASUS Z97-A/USB 3.1 2x Crucial - 16GB Kit (8GBx2), Ballistix 240-Pin DIMM, DDR3 PC3-12800 Memory (or whatever 32GB is on sale when I go to buy..crucial/Kingston/G.skill) Samsung - 850 EVO 500GB Internal Serial ATA Solid State Drive Fractal Design - Define R5 Windows 10 Pro Or INTEL Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz Processor Noctua NH-D15 ASUS X99-A/USB 3.1 2x G.SKILL Ripjaws 4 Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) (or whatever 32GB is on sale when I go to buy..crucial/Kingston/G.skill) Samsung - 850 EVO 250GB Internal Serial ATA Solid State Drive Fractal Design - Define R5 Windows 10 Pro Parts used out of old machine for new build: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive PNY GeForce GTX 770 4GB Video Card XFX XTR 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply I’m trying to keep budget for new parts as close to $1000 as possible…..upgrading and adding on as funds become available…eg, adding more ssd’s and adding another 32GB of RAM if going the 2011-v3 route. I know there is a new 4790k or 5820k thread every week, but I'm excited to hear what you guys have to say regarding my circumstance. thanks!
  11. Hello, my first post ere (although I was silently observing this forums for a while - creepy, I know) I am currently working on new Render Node spec for a small office I am working for. We currently own 3 years old i7 workstation (will post exact spec tomorrow morning, when I'm in the office) which renders a final frame in 3ds + Vray ~4-6 hours. As for modelling and postproduction, this spec is enough most of the time. It's slightly too slow for previewing, which tends to be very time consuming. We mainly work on architectural visualisation we make for ourselves. Since the workstation is enough to work with, but not enough to render, we are considering expanding the set with a new render node. My first shot was creating something similliar to Boxx Render PRO1. Something like this: Single Xeon E51650v3 3.5 GHz, 15 MB cache (6core) 16GB DDR4-2133 SODIMM ECC no graphic card/integrated 240GB SSD SATA Gigabit Ethernet set up on our own though - I don't really believe in BOXX service working well in Poland, and price can go down something around 50% down BOXX vs. similliar custom build. Our budget varies, we aim in possible rendering a single final frame in under one hour time (preferably 15 mins ). Atm we are aiming at something between 2000$-3000$ but we can invest more if we can expect surge in working conditions for our graphic dude I hope this illustrates a situation. Now - I am no computer guru, we are about to consult with local service. But I would like to get some feedback from people who actually work in architecture and have some experience with hardware. 1./ Main issue I am having is - is it worth it to invest in Render node and leave Workstation significantly slower then Node or should we rather change old unit into Node and buy a new workstation (then we will upgrade the node eventually, when we think its worth it)? My logic is - if WS is enough for our workflow in every aspect except rendering, then its worth it to buy a node and save money (GPU, HDDs, optical drives, power(?) etc. ) and delegate all rendering tasks from WS to it (including bigger previews). 2./ It is important to us that this solution is scalable. Meaning, I would like to be able to replace processors, add GPU, eventually add more nodes of similliar type to the whole system later (in what case is it justified to set up a rack server instead of standalone units?) 3./ What local network solution would you recommend? Do we actually need separate LAN/disk space just for this purpose? What bandwidth can jobs of this scale require to work seamlessly? We currently run a Windows Server on 2 mirrored RAIDs. Local network is built on LAN: WAN --- router --- switch --- clients (including server). This seves not only for 3ds but also for other CAD applications we're working with etc. 4. / Is it worth investing in Dual Core MoBo in price range 2000-3000$? Any contribution will be welcome, hope I don't ask for too much information The idea is just forming its shape and I am really not sure, were it is going to lead us

  13. I had my computers stolen last weekend during a home robbery which pushed my timetable for replacing 4year tech to NOW. I was just resigning myself to buying a boxx workstation ($6k+) or a precision T7610 ($7k+) with a dual Xeon e52680v2-similar to what I have at work, after my computers were stolen during a home-robbery this weekend. I was researching any posts on Boxx's renderpro and came across dtolios' site regarding a home renderbox, and after an evening of reading through the threads, have come up with this setup. Im an architecture professor and freelance in design so I do heavy rhino/grasshopper, 3ds max with MR and Maxwell, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, occasionally AE & Premiere (for video) and some sound design with Reason. I would love your feedback on getting this setup: it's obviously less than an amazing Boxx setup, but at 1/4 the price, I could build an armada of render-nodes to handle renders. I've built every one of my desktops since 2001.
  14. I am planning to build a machine to be used with 3ds max and VRay. At the moment, due to old hardware, I only use CPU rendering. Having played a bit on a workstation with a GTX Titan, I like it and think it could fit my workflow to use VRay RT and/or the progressive renderer. I did quite a bit of a research and for me the GPU is the hardest thing to decide on. The way nVidia cripple cards and how they position them, makes choosing one, even for a somewhat aware computer enthusiast willing to go and do research, overwhelming. Drivers and lack of optimization for different applications confuse things even more. In short I would like both great viewport performance and VRay RT too. I see people praising the Quadro K2000/K4000 and at the same time people saying Quadro cards are useless nowadays for 3ds max viewport and that GTX cards outperform them. A thing to consider is I am using a mATX case so there is space for two double width cards with no space between or around them. An option might be to buy one card which would be very good for viewport and maybe still good for RT so I could experiment and see how it goes. After that I could buy a great card for GPU rendering (Titan Black, GTX 780 - version with 6GB). If I go that route I could wait for the new series for the second card. For that computer case (TJ08-E) a reference design would be better, so it would blow the hot air outside the case and two cards would survive inside. Parts chosen: Case: Silverstone TJ08-E (CaseKing.de noise insulated version) CPU: Intel i7 4930k Tray CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 SE2011 Motherboard: Asus Rampage Gene IV GPU: Confused (VRAY RT, Progressive rendering) RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport Very Low Profile 32GB Kit (8GBx4) DDR3-1600 1.35V (Low profile needed because of the CPU cooler) PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 750W or Seasonic 750W X Series SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB (bought it last year) 3,5 inch Bay SSD Drawer: ICY DOCK MB992SK-B Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Finally I got cash , & Budget is : 10,000 $ Requirement 1 : Fastest Render Possible on this Budget Requirement 2 : Superior Viewport Performance Possibilities 1 : Anything will be Accepted i7, Xeon, Or Renderfarm (Got No Idea About Render Farm) - If i7 Then It will give me Great Render Performance then Xeon? - If Xeon Then It will give me Viewport Performance Better than i7 ? May be Depends On GPU (Only) - If Renderfarm Got No Idea At All, Give me some Idea ,Pros and Cons Please Every suggestions are welcomed, like Create 2 systems 1 for work and 1 for Render node Anything like That GPU: I am intrested in GTX980 but GTX980 8GB Is releasing soon. 19. Hey, I'm looking to buy a new desktop as my current computer cant do what I need it to. The programs I will be using are: - Revit - ArchiCAD - Lumion - 3DS Max/Vray - Photoshop and gaming. I already have a monitor so that wont need to be purchased. Like it says in the title my budget it $2000AUS. I was hoping to purchase from a site like http://www.newegg.com or similar that does shipping to Australia. Thanks for any help!
  20. As the title suggests, I am building a workstation for my brother. He is a 3D Modeler and Digital painter in vfx industry. He uses following softwares : 1. Autodesk Maya 2015 2. Adobe Photoshop CS6 3. Pixologic ZBrush vR6 4. Autodesk 3ds Max 2015 5. vray or mental ray for final output rendering. My budget is about Rs. 2lakhs (approx 3165$). So, the following system is what I have designed: 1)Processor:- Intel Core i7 5960X Haswell-E....Rs. 72,499.00 (approx 1147$). http://www.primeabgb.com/intel-core-i7-5960x-haswell-cpu-processor.html 2)Motherboard:- ASUS X99-PRO X99 Socket 2011-v3 Motherboards....Rs. 24,560.00 (approx 388$). http://www.primeabgb.com/asus-x99-pro-x99-socket-2011-v3-motherboards.html Was going for asus x99-A, but for 2741Rs.(approx 43.51$) more, I will be getting additional wireless support. 3)RAM:- Gskill Ripjaws 4 F4-2400C15Q-32GRR DDR4 RAM Memory....Rs. 37,691.00 (approx 596$). http://www.primeabgb.com/gskill-ripjaws-4-f4-2400c15q-32grr-ddr4-ram-memory.html Since maximum amount of RAM power is needed during rendering. 4)Storage:- a)SSD: Samsung 850 Pro-Series 2.5" 256GB SSD (MZ-7KE256BW)....Rs. 13,000 (approx 206$). http://www.flipkart.com/samsung-850-pro-256-gb-laptop-internal-hard-drive-mz-7ke256bw/p/itmeyfbwnjarzvam?pid=IHDEYFBW2HJFNZSB&otracker=from-search&srno=t_1&query=samsung+850+pro&ref=45c47fb5-71b2-443f-a95f-d0eec24a1ec1 b)HDD: WD Black 1TB Desktop Internal Advance Format Hard Drive (WD1003FZEX)....Rs. 5,840.00 (approx 92$). http://www.amazon.in/WD-Desktop-Internal-Advance-WD1003FZEX/dp/B00FJRS6FU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1420222608&sr=8-1&keywords=wd1003fzex 5)CPU Cooler:- CORSAIR Hydro Series H110 Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler.....Rs. 10,250.00 (approx 162$). http://www.amazon.in/CORSAIR-Series-Extreme-Performance-Liquid/dp/B00B4OCW7K I was going for nzxt kraken x61 but its unavailable here 6)OS:- Windows 8.1 pro 64 bit.....Rs. 8,890 (approx 141$). 7)Cabinet:- Nzxt Phantom 630, CM storm Trooper(without window), Corsair graphite 780T or corsair carbide 500R. 8)PSU:- I don't know how much power will be required. I have already bought the processor, RAM, ssd+hdd since there was new year's sale. I have nvidia quadro 2000 graphic card in my previous rig. I will be using that. 630, trooper or 500r selected solely because of their side fans. As I am planning for AIO cooler, I don't want to overlook cooling of gpu and vrm. I live in Mumbai, India and here, in summer, temps rise around 35C. Also, the rig would be used for about 15 to 18 hours daily. So I am leaning towards cases with side fans. Also I am planning to overclock upto 4.5GHz if possible. So, please suggest me the proper case, psu and let me know if I would be requiring any more fans depending on how much power I would be required and how much heat will be generated. PC would be used for work purposes only and no gaming will be done. Ahh! Sorry for the long post but want to clarify all points. Please help. Any suggestions are welcomed. Thanks in advance.
  21. Hi guys, I'm hoping I can get the best advice here for relevant parts. I was hoping to spend around $1500. I already have hard drives. I will use rhino, 3dsmax, revit, and adobe cs, autocad, photoshop, sketchup and I render primarily with v-ray through Rhino. I need to build this machine in the next couple weeks - can't wait for DDR and so on. I'm not sure about the video card. It is probably too much but I want to get into real-time rendering. This will be a hackintosh and i intend to use all windows programs through a virtual machine. 22. Hey guys, im an Industrial Design Student from argentina and im planning to buy a few things in my trip to orlando to update mi pc. I use Rhinoceros and Solidworks for 3d modeling and Keyshot (a purely Cpu renderer) for rendering. I have CPU: Core i5 2500 Mobo: Asus p8p67pro Ram: 8gb (2x4gb) 1333 mhz Kingston ddr3 HDD: 500gb seagate barracuda 1tb seagate barracuda GPU: Gtx 460 se 1gb from EVGA Staying with my old sentey case (yes i dont have much money to spend but i will try to change it in the future) I am attempting to upgrade it to (i will give the i5 pc to my sis staying with the gtx 460se for a few games): CPU: I7 4930k http://www.amazon.co...d=AHKAAUFS1KKJ0 MOBO: ASUS P9X79 http://www.amazon.co...d=ATVPDKIKX0DER GPU: quadro k600 http://www.amazon.co...=A3JEKQLX9Y2C9L +gtx 460 se 1gb Cooler: Noctua Ultra Silent CPU Cooler Cooling NH-U9B SE2 http://www.amazon.co...d=AZCEI3EMXUPTH HDD: (not sure if im staying with the 1tb barracuda) http://www.amazon.co...d=ATVPDKIKX0DER Ram: Corsair 16gb (2x8gb) 1866mhz http://www.amazon.co...d=ATVPDKIKX0DER PSU: 700w Thermaltake http://www.amazon.co...ATVPDKIKX0DER Is this config ok? what do you think, Im trying to reduce my time in 3d modeling, my i5 2500 does it fine but its an unique oportunity to upgrade it and i dont know if a i7 4770k or an i7 4790k will be worth it. I've been looking for a cheaper and more balanced rig and these are the specifications that seem more logic: Cpu: Core i7 4790k http://www.amazon.co...d=ATVPDKIKX0DER Motherboard asus z97 pro http://www.amazon.co...d=ATVPDKIKX0DER Gfx Card1: EVGA gtx 760 2gb (if my parents don't borrow me all the money I will stay with my old gtx 460 se that is doing fine in 1080p for my needings in gaming) http://www.amazon.co...d=ATVPDKIKX0DER Gfx Card2: Quadro k600 http://www.amazon.co...=A3JEKQLX9Y2C9L Cooler: Noctua Ultra Silent CPU Cooler Cooling NH-U9B SE2 http://www.amazon.co...d=AZCEI3EMXUPTH HDD: My old500gb barracuda seagate and a WD Blue caviar 1tb http://www.amazon.co...d=ATVPDKIKX0DER SSD Samsung 840 evo series 250gb (does it really makes the difference?) http://www.amazon.co...d=ATVPDKIKX0DER RAM: Corsair 16gb 2x8gb 1866mhz http://www.amazon.co...d=ATVPDKIKX0DER PSU: Corsair cx600 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0092ML0OC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Total:1440 U$D What do you think? 23. Hi, for the last weeks i have been following many of the posts on this Hardware Forum, and with the kind advice and recommendations in those posts from members like Dimitri Tolios, Numerobis, Benjamin Steinert, Juraj Talcik, and others, i have tried to digest all the info and make my best judgement for the new computer that i want to build. ( I have never Overclocked a CPU and this will be my first built ever, so i had little knowledge in this areas..., but anyways i have also done my research online for many of the components in this post...) Please correct me if i am wrong, but i consider this configuration a "BASIC Workstation" with Viewport performance emphasis (not GPU rendering)... I will use it as a solution until i buy a really strong Workstation on the start of 2014... Then this will become a backup Workstation / render node. Hopefully other members here are looking for a somewhat Budget solution like this too. Budget is very tricky in this range, so here is the Configuration i want to buy. Please give me your toughts... : HASWELL BASIC WORKSTATION with BUDGET VIEWPORT PERFORMANCE GPU: (Medium Overclockable and air cooling) CPU: Intel i7-4770K $339.99 MOBO: I have several options, but i am not sure if they will work with the GPU, Ram and Fan that i want. I am also undecided on wheter mATX or ATX is best for this config... - Asrock Z87M Extreme 4 mATX $156 Alternative Options: mATX: - Gigabyte Z87MX (GA-Z87MX-D3H) $125 ATX: - Gigabyte Z87X (GA-Z87X-UD3H) $159 - Asrock Z87 Extreme 4 $180 - ASUS Z87-PLUS $165 COOLER:Cooler Master Hyper 212EVO $33.99 RAM: G.SKILL Ares Series 16GB $138.99 (Any other Model or brand you recommend? ....I have read that Kingston and Corsair are good, and that it might probably need to be Low Profile Ram...) GPU: NVIDIA Quadro K600 1GB DDR3 $166.99 Alternative Options: (I have found these 2 other options, but i am not sure if the 3 are the same, or one is better? - PNY VCQK600-PB Quadro K600 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Low Profile $180.64 - ADAPTR Quadro K600 1GB $247.07 HDD: WD Caviar Black 1 TB – WD1002FAEX $ 89.99 CASE: Corsair Obsidian 350D = $89.99 Alternative Options: (What do you think?) - Corsair Carbide 200R = $ 59.99 - Corsair Carbide 300R = $ 88.77 - Fractal Design Core 1000 = $46.97 I was recommended this Case for a render node, but i think it might struggle with this Workstation components, specially with the Cooler. (I like very much the smaller size and the "looks" of it the most. _ It is the smaller one of them all) - Any other better CASE suggestion on this price range? PSU: Corsair CX500M 500W Modular Bronze $65.99 Alternative Options: -Rosewill capstone-550-M Gold = $89.99 ______________________________________________________________________ TOTAL: (for first options) $ 1081.93 ______________________________________________________________________ EXTRAS: OS: Windows 7 Professional SP1 64bit (OEM) $124 DVD DRIVE: Lite-On DVD+/-RW Dual Layer IHAS124-04 $21.69 SSD: Samsung 840 120 GB $100.96 (The 840 PRO is better because of MLC, so it has a longer lifespan, BUT more expensive) THERMAL PASTE: Any recommendations on the best or good enough? GIGABIT SWITCH: Any recommendations for a 4 to 8 port switch? I need this for my small office. Right now i only have a NAS with gigabit, and soon this Workstation. But i expect to have 2 to 3 more PCS with gigabit in a year or two.... ______________________________________________________________________ Please feel free to comment, change or add the components that you think will work better if needed, or in the other hand change or take away the ones you fill are overkill, or that can be replaced by other that can help save some money. NOTES: - My main use will be 3DS Max, CAD and Photoshop. I want viewport performance, and not GPU rendering, hence the Quadro K600... ( I don"t do gaming) - Most of the links to components where kindly provided by Dimitri Tolios in some other Threads. - All prices from AMAZON US
