  1. Hi Everyone ??? Check out this step-by-step tutorial on how to create and publish animated rendered frames of products, using 3ds Max, V-Ray and Webrotate360: https://jamiecardoso-mentalray.blogspot.com/2020/02/webrotate360-with-3ds-max-v-ray.html Users will learn how to: 2:02 Set up the 3ds max scene 3:00 Load up the V-Ray rendering engine and set up the scene for draft renders 7:31 Create and setup a V-Ray Dome Light 8:40 Add the V-Ray Environment Exposure Control 8:55 Apply and edit the V-Ray HDRI Light 11:17 Create and Edit a Camera Animation 17:39 Create and edit a V-Ray Material 20:19 Add and Edit HDRI to the Environment 21:10 Add and edit a 3ds max LUT file in the Frame Buffer 22:37 Create and Edit a Stainless Steel Material 25:04 Set up V-Ray for High Resolution Renders 26:05 Create an Animatic Preview 26:41 Fixing Gamma Issues 27:25 Use LUT Explorer script to save the render with the LUT applied 29:36 Use Garagefarm to Render the frames 35:50 Create Photoshop actions to aquatically apply LUT files and reduce image sizes 39:20 Upload and launch your files using Webrotate360 and SpotEditor I really hope you find it useful, like and share it! 2. *See attached image for workflow* I'm exploring non photo-realistic rendering and first up is a "toon"/halftone pattern shader. I'm having trouble getting the black outline to occupy the entire edge of the geometry. There's a weird cut-off on the z axis and no outline closet to the camera. I've tried many different falloff types, falloff directions, and gradient maps. Any thoughts?
  3. Hi all, just wanted to let you know, that SLiB | Browser is now fully compatible with V-Ray. SLiB | Browser is a free Maya Plugin that provides an easy way to use SLiB | Shaders or to build up own shader libraries. It greatly improves the way to work with materials in a Maya scene. A simple interface and Preview Images of the Materials help you to quickly find what you are looking for. For download and installation help check link below. www.slib.digidim.info cheers Daniel
  4. Hi everyone, I want to know how to Make a skin shader with maxwell. I try too much but I couldn't. Shader that I want is a negro skin . I search a lot and find something that i want to be in maxwell render. Here is a image to know what I really want:
  5. Hi all, I'm hoping that someone out there can help me out with a problem that I'm having creating a material for coca-cola. The problem I'm now having is with the Cola liquid. I can't get it to have a brown/black glow like an image that I've seen. Ideally I want to replicate this effect on my own model. Can anyone help to advise me how to go about it? I have C4D R13 and Vray to work with. I have no idea if this is something achieved by lighting, Vray or another method. I've been scouring the web but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards. MikeV
  6. Hi guys - I am working on an an accelerated animation (~6 seconds) showing the Statue of Liberty going from shiny copper to green worn copper and I am having a hard time determining how best to transition between the two materials. I have tried using both Composite and Blend materials, but going from a highly reflective material to a matte material just doesn't look "right". You can see what I have currently here: (make sure to watch in 1080p Any suggestions on how I could transition between these two materials and create a convincing, "realistic" affect would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Much, Max
  7. Studio/Institution: Aleso3d Genre: Residential Interior Software: 3dsmax and vray Website: http://www.aleso3d.com Description: Hello, this is a render from a tutorial that i did about how to model a wire chair, also i cover the material setup in the tutorial. The wire chair is available for free download, i hope you liked. this is the link to the tutorial for those that are interested and for the download http://www.aleso3d.com/blog/?p=476
  8. I am new to CG and image rendering but I am working for a company that is developing a new ray tracing renderer optimized for the new multicore architectures like Intel's Larrabee and Nvidia's GPU. Right now I am trying to learn as much as possible on the subject and trying to gather information on the most popular renderers. I would appreciate feedback from CG community here. How would you improve your rendering workflow? What is your favorite renderer? If you were to consider a different renderer what and why is the most important feature to look for? how important is shader availability? user friendly interface? Complexity to set it up? Community? speed vs quality? Thank you very much for your help!
  9. Anyone have good tips or a tutorial for atmospheric "God Rays" casting into interior spaces? Yes, I could paint it in Photoshop, but I am more interested in rendering out a separate pass in MR and compositing that in Photoshop. Then I would use that pass to paint them to the look I want. I have briefly messed with the "Beam (Lume)" shader, and the "Parti Volume (Physics)" shader with little to no luck. I am not sure if that is the direction to keep working with, or if I should look elsewhere. Below is a link to an extreme example of what I am trying to create. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/7c/Crepescular_rays_in_saint_peters_basilica.JPG
